The Top 2019 Wedding Color Palettes
The Pantone Color Institute partnered with WeddingWire to provide the top
four wedding color palettes for 2019. Choosing wedding colors is often easier
said than done. "Color is a powerful tool - not just for enhancing aesthetics that
are critical to every element of a wedding - but to evoke emotion and create the
special mood that a couple wishes to communicate throughout their special day
from playful and adventurous to romantic and timeless, and everything in
between," says Laurie Pressman, VP, Pantone Color Institute, in a release.
WeddingWire's Creative Director Jeffra Trumpower adds: "I recommend couples
begin thinking about color as soon as they start wedding planning."
LOVE IN BLOOM pays homage to the growing interest in floral wedding
installations, featuring soft and nurturing shades of rose contrasted with
daring fuchsia red, an earthy green, and shiny silver metallic. Pantone
describes the color scheme: "Love in Bloom leans to the warm side of the
spectrum with its visual portrayal of comfort and enjoyment, affection, and
contentment. Blending nostalgia with new, Love in Bloom takes an innovative
approach to romantic love."
GOLDEN HOUR revels in the beauty of colors found in nature with a fresh
twist on the traditional. Pale gold and copper metallic highlight warm neutrals
including cream, tan, and light brown - the perfect backdrop for a couple with
a rustic wedding theme celebrating a first dance to the Kacey Musgraves song
of the same name.
PARADISE FOUND is inspired by the tropics: playful oranges, lush greens,
vibrant teals, radiant blues, and a splash of turquoise emulate water and sky,
while a bright white represents the whitecaps of waves. Whether a destination
or hometown wedding, this color scheme brings a lively feel to a couple's big day.
STROKE OF MIDNIGHT "celebrates the powerful energy and magic surrounding the beginnings of a new chapter for couples," says Pantone in a release.
The palette highlights "after dark" hues of twilight blues and red-infused purples,
with sparkling whites and cool metallics adding sheen and sparkle. Pantone
positions this palette as perfect for 2019's linen of choice, velvet.

DANCE, DANCE
Besides the bar, the dance floor tends to be the most popular
spot at a wedding reception. From first dances to bouquet
tosses, it's home to many memories and photo ops over the
course of a couple's cherished day - so why not deck the floor
in graphics?
Drytac's Jerry Hill did just that as a fun surprise for his
daughter, transforming the plain flooring into a customized
dance floor with a checkered design featuring the couple's
new monogram. The project was printed with an EFI Vutek
onto Drytac SpotOn Floor 200 media; Hill installed the
graphics himself in an hour.

In our social media-driven world, what's a gorgeous wedding
without top-notch photos and videos to document the day?
Even before the dawn of Instagram and Pinterest, wedding
photo albums have been a treasured staple in many married
couples' homes. (I can remember flipping through my parents'
album as a kid, admiring the '90s styles and giggling at how
young all my relatives looked.)
Ninety percent of couples hire a photographer, like Fresno,
California-based Pamela Leeds, to capture their nuptials. For
Leeds, a wedding and family photographer, the hassle, time,
and cost associated with outsourcing photo prints got to be
too much, so she invested in a Canon imagePrograf Pro-2000
large-format printer for her studio - cutting her outsourcing
costs by 75 percent in the first six months.
Leeds, who also shoots on a Canon camera, now images
customized banners, posters, and matte and canvas prints
from the comfort of her own photography studio - decking
out her workspace in gorgeous wedding prints along the way.
She's able to print photos up to 24 x 70 inches in-house,
turning them over to clients within a day or two. "Not only
does bringing print in-house help cut costs, but the output
from the Pro-2000 printer is far better than the lab we were
outsourcing from," Leeds adds.
