Wallcoverings and murals are back, big-time. They're brighter
and bolder than ever, and they represent one of the fastest
growing market segments in digital printing. Growth is projected
to be 25 percent annually through 2023, with revenue climbing
from $2.53 billion to $7.74 billion.1
Canon Solutions America recently celebrated the unveiling of a
mural inspired by the Tripod at Writers Room program co-founded
by Drexel University and Canon Solutions America. The Tripod
participants' writing and images were incorporated into a customdesigned mural, which was printed locally by Color Reflections on
an Océ Colorado printer and installed recently at the university.
The Writers Room community was joined by friends and family
on June 3 for the public debut of the mural, which is installed in
the hallway outside the English Department. The intimate celebration began with opening remarks from Rachel Wenrick, associate
teaching professor of English and director of Writers Room, and
Shivanthi Anandan, PhD, interim vice provost of undergraduate
education. The designer, Patty West, says, "This project meant a
lot to the members of the Writers Room and it was a very special
moment to finally see our vision come to life, surrounded by the
people who supported it and helped make it happen."
"When Canon Solutions America approached us about taking
on this project for our neighbors at Drexel University, we were
very excited," says Eric Berger, Color Reflections president and
owner. "Creating adhesive-backed vinyls for wallcoverings and
murals is one of our specialties, and we knew we could provide
a mural that the students could be proud to show their friends

and families. We printed the mural on Canon's large-format Océ
Colorado, as we have for similar projects, and we could not be
happier with the result."
