AUTOMATION IN PERFECTION: DESIGN, PRINT, CUT
In volatile markets trending more and more towards mass customization and consistently higher volumes of jobs in lower quantities, the need for flexible, just-in-time production continues to
grow, and with it, the need for workflow automation in all phases
of graphics production. This is true for design and prepress as
well. To help meet these challenges, Zünd and Caldera have
launched a new software solution that creates an ultra-efficient
prepress workflow. PrimeCenter simplifies file preparation and
output, allowing users to configure their workflows, from design
to print to cut, at a
level of automation
that best meets
their needs.
Available in three
versions, Basic, Pro,
and Max, PrimeCenter can output to any
RIP/printer and any
cutter, but excels
with its full integration with Zünd Cut Center - ZCC, the user
interface and control software that drives Zünd cutting systems.
PrimeCenter offers functionalities that include true-shape
nesting for optimal material yield and shorter production times
as well as the ability for ganging through metadata to simplify
sorting/kitting and nesting in sections. It can generate trim
boxes, define bleed, add register marks, and mirror the layout for
transparent materials or transfer prints. It lets the user integrate
selected metadata in the output file and print it as e.g. tear-away
tabs for easy job tracking and attribution of cut parts to orders.
The integration with Zünd Cut Server and Cut Time Estimation
facilitate production planning and transparency.
With all that plus PDF preflight checks after import and before
export, automation through hot folders, filename conversions, and
XML-based job tickets exported from MIS/ERP or a web shop,
PrimeCenter offers a full gamut of prepress features that create
the perfect basis for an efficient, cohesive print-to-cut workflow.
