Plaskolite Optix DA
Optix® DA is an acrylic sheet designed for flatbed digital printers that use UV-curable ink. Plaskolite (Columbus, OH), which manufactures the sheet, says it contains a special acrylic polymer that promotes adhesion of UV-curing inks, and doesn’t require an adhesion promoter prior to printing. 3A Composites (Mooresville, NC) has updated several of its product lines. Six new hues (red, dark green, dark blue, light blue, grey and yellow) were added to its Omni-Flute™ line of flute-polypropylene sheet that’s designed for short-term and POP signage. In addition, Omni-Flute Trim & Square precision-cut, blank substrate became available. Pre-cut sheets in white and yellow are stocked at 4-mil thicknesses and varying sheet sizes. The company says the pre-cut sheets save fabrication time and expense. Most recently, the company expanded its Gatorfoam ® line of heavy-duty foamboard to include Gatorfoam Exterior, which comprises polystyrene foam bonded between wood-fiber veneer laminates. The company says this design yields a rigid, lightweight, warp-resistant board with a dent- and scratch-resistant surface. Coroplast CoroGreen
Coroplast’s (Dallas) CoroGreen™ is a recyclable, corrugated, opaque, polypropylene sheet. The company says it meets requirements for the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED credit and is effective in high-moisture environments. CoroGreen has a white printable surface and black core, and comes in 4-, 6-, 8- and 10-mil widths with custom surface colors and sheet sizes available.
