Wide-width Flexible Substrate
Polyester Textiles
Top Value Fabrics (Carmel, IN) is announcing its Direct
Print Textiles series, which is designed for banners, flags,
exhibit graphics, fine-art reprints and advertising displays.
The high-performance line is constructed with a superior,
print-receptive treatment for direct printing, according to
the company. The series includes 3.2-oz. flag polyester,
3.3-oz. polyester satin, 5.2-oz. stretch polyester, 6-oz. polyester and 7.3-oz. heavy polyester. The fabrics are available
in widths from 61 to 126 in. They meet NFPA 701 FR specifications and are REACH compliant, the company states.

The Commercial Graphics Div. of 3M™ (St. Paul,
MN) offers its Panagraphics™ III wide-width
flexible substrate, a translucent media intended
for durable, flexible signs when used with
3M’s compatible products. Designed as a
cost-effective choice for backlit signs, the
material offers a low-visibility scrim for a
less-distracting view of the sign image when
backlit. Available seamless, the substrate can
be decorated with 3M-brand cut films or
receive direct print via selected applications.
Its smooth front surface, anti-wick polyester
scrim, and excellent diffusion and transmission
ensure consistent image quality for daytime
whiteness and nighttime brightness, the
company states.

Blockout Material
Ultraflex (Randolph, NJ) is introducing two, new, blockout banner
materials. SuperSmooth PET GreyBack, a 13-oz., non-curling, frontlit
banner material with a grey back and smooth print surface, is
available in a matte finish for single-sided, eco-solvent, solvent and
UV printing. The backer prevents light transparency and shadowing,
which makes it most applicable for such high-resolution, indoor
applications as banners; rollups; scrolling, banner-stand displays;
tradeshow graphics, and POP signs. No lamination is required.
For double-sided, latex printing, the company offers Outdoor
Blockout LTX, an 18-oz., heavy-duty, blockout, banner material for
indoor and outdoor applications. It’s designed to provide strength
and stability under harsh weather conditions. “LTX” designates a
latex-formulated material, and this is the first product for this line.
Both sides of the material have a matte finish, and are compatible
with eco-solvent, solvent, latex and UV inks. Applications include
pole/street banners, aisle/event banners, tradeshow graphics and
POP/POS signs.
