or quantity production of channel
letters, logos, cans and other deepreturn sign shapes, a fully automated
system can save vast amounts of
time and manpower. However, a
signshop gray zone often exists in
that tenuous workload region where
expanding your channel-letter business is the plan, but the budget says

you must ease in, and
not yet commit to a
major capital investment.

or shape. The 2010 can handle return
depths that range from 2 to 12 in.,
with a thickness of .032 to .063 in.
It also can handle 24- to 26-gauge
stainless steel. The letter height is
mandated by the coil length.
If your volume of letters doesn't
warrant a fully automated bender,
CLN offers its CLN 6-in. bender,
a manual brake designed to assist
channel-letter production. It accepts
notched, sheetmetal strips into a
foot-pedal-activated clamp. In operation, the machinist aligns the notch
and engages the brake until the
desired angle is attained. It also
allows you to produce reverse bends.
CLN's auto bender is an automated, roller/former tool bender that
will process notched, sheetmetal
strips into smooth, letter curves.
The machines require 120V
electrical and 80 psi. All machines
have an air regulator and a PC.
CLN says they're ready for full
operation.
You can purchase a complete
CLN kit or supplement the tools
you have inhouse. Add, for example,
the CLN 6-in. bender for manual
letter production, or the CLN auto
bender to more fully automate the
task. Or, perhaps you're presently
equipped with a good brake machine,
