Agfa Graphics

Agfa Graphics (Elmwood Park, NJ)
displayed its 98-in.-wide, six-color,
Jeti Tauro:, a flatbed- and R2Rhybrid, UV-cure printer that features an option for white ink or
primer. The 32-printhead Tauro
features Agfa's Asanti 2.0 workflow software that controls from
prepress to finishing production.
The print system offers optional
semi- or full-media load and
unload automation.
Agfa also displayed its Jeti Mira:,
a six-color/white (with varnish
and primer options) UV-cure,
flatbed, inkjet printer that features
two, table-size options -105 x 74
in. and 125 x 74 in. - and a splitvacuum system; it also features
Agfa's Asanti 2.0 workflow software.

Mutoh also introduced its 24-in.wide ValueJet 628X and 64-in.wide ValueJet 1628X printers that
image color, white and metallic
Eco-Ultra inks. Each offers your
choice of four ink configurations
that can provide up to eight colors,
including CMYK, Lc, Lm, white
and metallic inks that work in
conjunction with Mutoh's Metallic
Color Library to create a range of
506 metallic-blended colors. The
1,440-dpi printers will produce
vehicle wraps, labels, decals, stickers,
banners, tradeshow graphics and
more. Mutoh's Smart Printing
includes its Intelligent Interweave
printing method and DropMaster
ink printhead technology. The
printer ships with Mutoh-edition
FlexiPrint SE RIP software.

Novus Pictora

Novus Imaging (Amboy, NY) displayed its 24 x 36-in., high-speed, Pictora, UV-cure printer that features

CMYK, orange and gray inks; and
greyscale inkjet technology (10-,
20- or 30-pL inkdrop sizes) that
will high-gamut produce up to 220
boards/hour.
The USA-made Pictora handles
materials up to 2 in. thick and
features an integrated, laser sensor
that prevents printhead strikes. A
barcode reader automatically coordinates double-sided printing, and
Novus can provide custom jigs and
frames for processing odd-shaped
materials.
Guy Cipresso, Novus' VP of
sales and business development,
introduced me to this most innovative machine and, after having
watched it perform, I decided an

job submission, upload files, select print options, preview selections and receive a quote.
Note the phrase "ad hoc job
submission," which tells you the
processes are customizable. Characteristically, such systems more
closely bind clients and PSP's,
which, of course, assures future
