THREADX 2020 TO BE HELD IN FEBRUARY
Registration is open for SGIA's ThreadX 2020 apparel decorator's
conference slated for February 23-25 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Customer-focused opening and closing keynote presentations
will add to the educational sessions covering the most
challenging operational questions for apparel businesses.
Opening keynote speaker Jay Baer, founder of Convince and
Convert, will discuss how to turn negative customer reviews into
opportunities. Closing keynoter Scott Wozniak, CEO of Swoz
Leadership, will share tips and real-world examples on creating a
customer base of raving fans.
"Our attendees are serious about apparel, so the curriculum is
more 200-, 300-level courses, not intro level," says Christopher
Bernat, CRO/co-owner of Vapor Apparel (vaporapparel.com) and
member of SGIA's Apparel Decorators Committee, which
designed the event.
Conference sessions include "A Virtuous Culture," with Pete
Lovelace, GM, Booster Spirit Wear (boosterspiritwear.com), and
a panel discussion on subscription models with Justin Lawrence,
owner/operator, Oklahoma Shirt Company (oklahomashirtcompany.
com), and Austin Crossley, founder/managing partner, Red Tuna
Shirt Club (redtunashirtclub.com).
Aaron Draplin, owner/founder, Draplin Design Company,
will return to host a limited-seating, pre-conference workshop
on Sunday, February 23: "Things No One Talks About in
Graphic Design."

GLOBAL PRINT COMMUNITY PLANS
INTERNATIONAL PRINT DAY
For the sixth year, International Print Day will unite
print enthusiasts worldwide for an opportunity to
declare their love of print through 24 hours of social
media sharing using #IPD19 and #Print2Gether.
The social media event begins at 6 p.m. EST on
October 22 and concludes at the same time on
October 23. This intentionally coincides with the
first day of Printing United, taking place in Dallas
October 23-25.
"I encourage everyone out there with a social
media account to plan for this tremendous
opportunity to tell the world about what you do,
show off the amazing things you create and
produce through ink and substrates, and how
you collaborate with all of your partners," says
Deborah Corn, principal at Print Media Centr and
founder of International Print Day.

EFI NAMES
JEFF JACOBSON
NEW CEO
EFI has appointed Jeff
Jacobson, a 30-year
veteran of the digital
imaging and industrial
technology sector, as
CEO, succeeding Bill
Muir who has stepped
down. Jacobson will
also retain his role as
executive chairman.
Prior to joining the company, Jacobson was CEO of
Xerox. "Together with my experienced and
talented colleagues on the EFI team, we will
provide the leadership needed to help EFI accelerate the transformation of industries where colorful
images matter," Jacobson says in a release.
