coronavirus test. Additionally, U.S. visitors are required to
purchase Aruba Visitors Insurance to cover any potential
health costs during their stay.
The Bahamas
A popular spot for Americans, these picturesque islands
are once again open to U.S. visitors. You must provide a
negative COVID-19 test less than five days before departure,
as well as complete a Travel Health Visa application (and
opt-in to mandatory COVID-19 health insurance). If you
plan to stay longer than five days, you must take a second,
rapid antigen test on the fifth day. Children 10 and younger
aren't required to test prior to arrival.
Belize
Situated on the northeastern coast of Central America,
this dreamy country requires that American visitors present
a negative coronavirus test less than 96 hours before you
depart on your vacation. If you don't show up with your
test, you'll pay $50 cash to take a test upon your arrival. In
addition, to gain entry into the country, U.S. visitors must
also complete health forms on the Belize Health App
(which you must download at least three days before you
board your flight). Fully vaccinated? If you got your final
shot more than two weeks before your trip, you're exempt
from these testing requirements.
Costa Rica
Pura Vida in this popular Central American destination is an
option once again for all U.S. citizens (previously, only residents
of select states were allowed in). Visitors must complete health
forms within 48 hours of boarding a flight and purchase (or
provide proof of) medical insurance prior to arrival.
Dominican Republic
Visitors must fill out a digital " e-ticket " that combines a
Traveler's Health Affidavit, the Customs Declaration and
Embarkation/Disembarkation forms. The Ministry of
Tourism is offering free viral antigen testing within 72
hours of departure to visitors staying at hotels who need to
meet the protocols needed for return to the United States.
JAMAICA
Those older than 12 years traveling from the U.S. must
provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test or Antigen test
result from an accredited medical lab. Before check-in and
boarding your flight, Travel Authorization is required.
Upon arrival in Jamaica, visitors will be screened for
symptoms at the airport. If you are considered " high risk "
(showing symptoms or you come from or traveled through
countries where there is a high community transmission of
COVID-19) you'll be subject to a PCR test and placed in
quarantine until the results are back.
Bermuda
Pristine beaches await American vacationers to this
Atlantic paradise, provided said vacationers show a negative
COVID-19 test result taken five days or less before they left
for the trip. You must also submit a travel authorization form
and pay $75 to be approved for entrance into the country.
Upon arrival, you'll be tested again and must quarantine
until negative results come back (usually about 24 hours). A
negative test result lets you move about your resort or hotel.
Visitors will be tested again on days four, eight and 14 and
are required to wear a traveler wristband for the first 14 days.
Remove the wristband and you risk paying a fine.
MEXICO
Mexico was one of the first foreign destinations to open
up to U.S. travelers. Americans can even enjoy a vacation
here without taking a COVID-19 test before they arrive.
However, you will be subject to health screenings when you
arrive. In addition, some cities have implemented curfews
and other health restrictions. The land border remains
closed, so your only option to get there is by plane.
PUERTO RICO
Proof of a negative COVID-19 test (taken with 24 hours of
arrival) and a completed Travel Declaration Form are all
you need to roam free on the beaches and along the historic
streets of this picturesque U.S. territory. Social distancing
and mask-wearing are health rules visitors must also follow
