2. Treehotel
Near the Arctic Circle, this spot is the realization of a couple's dream
of turning a 1930s retirement home into a guesthouse in their home
village. The result was a tree hotel complete with seven tree rooms.
The rooms are suspended 13 to 32 feet above ground with views of
the Lule River and, if you're lucky, the northern lights. Opt for the
Mirrorcube, the Bird's Nest, the UFO or other unique structures.

Montana Treehouse Retreat | Columbia Falls, Montana
Just 30 minutes from Glacier National Park, the artistically designed
two-story treehouse is packed with amenities. The grand entrance
is a spiral staircase crafted around a giant Douglas fir tree.
The first floor has a full bathroom with a full-sized
shower and sink. The rental also includes a private
five-acre forest, walking trails and cross-country
ski trails for winter visits.

4. Pacuare Lodge | Limon, Costa Rica

Tucked deep within a Costa Rican rain
forest on the banks of the Pacuare River,
elevated, thatched-roof bungalows blend
in with the lush surroundings. Getting to
the exquisite eco-lodge is an adventure. You
arrive and depart via a multi-day rafting tour
on the river. The lodge was built with minimal
environmental impact and there's no electricity
in the bungalows.
