TELESCOPE HISTORY CROWNING GLORY This engraving from the 1899 publication Handbuch der Astronomischen Instrumentenkunde portrays the Saegmuller 20-inch refractor installed at Chamberlin Observatory in Denver, Colorado. Featuring an objective lens by the legendary optical firm of Alvan Clark & Sons, the telescope was the largest instrument Saegmuller ever made.
