Wrap Shot The Harlem Globetrotters The Harlem Globetrotters basketball team is photographed by Philip Tannura, ASC (standing at the Mitchell BNC camera positioned behind the backboard) during the production of a 1951 self-titled feature about the all-star squad. In the February 1951 issue of AC, Tannura wrote about employing " lantensification " - a lab process by which exposed negative is treated with light to increase sensitivity. This strategy allowed Tannura to properly shoot the team in large arenas illuminated by little more than house lights and a few photofloods. Standing just below Tannura, to the left of the backboard, is future ASC great Richard H. Kline, who served as a camera assistant on the film. 72 / APRIL 2022 PHOTO COURTESY OF THE ASC ARCHIVE.
