up the ladder in production. He
produced many projects for director
Dave Meyers, and their collaboration
continues today. Cunningham
was nominated for Camerimage
Golden Frogs for Kendrick Lamar's
" Humble, " Harry Styles' " Falling " and
Ed Sheeran's " Bad Habits. " He won
MTV Video Music Awards for " Humble "
and Shawn Mendes' " Señorita "
and was also nominated for Ariana
Grande's " No Tears Left to Cry "
and Camila Cabello's " My Oh My. "
This year, Cunningham received an
ASC Award nomination for " Gorilla, "
performed by Little Simz
New ASC member Ben Kutchins
worked as a still photographer at
Industrial Light & Magic before
Anthony B. Richmond, ASC, BSC
embarking on a career in cinematography.
After shooting such features
as Holy Rollers, Ten Thousand
Saints and Sleeping with Other
People, he transitioned to television,
serving as director of photography
on Mozart in the Jungle, Happyish,
three seasons of Ozark (for which
he received two Emmy nominations)
and the first season of The White
Lotus. He won the ASC Award this
year for his work on Boston Strangler,
for which he also received an
Emmy nomination.
BSC Honors Richmond for Lifetime
Achievement
A prolific artist for six decades,
Anthony B. Richmond, ASC, BSC
was recently honored by the British
ASC Honors at SBIFF
The first ASC Award for Cinematography at the Santa Barbara International
Film Festival was presented on Feb. 17 to The Movie Teller,

ASC President Shelly Johnson
announced the award during the
SBIFF Awards Breakfast at the
Belmond El Encanto Hotel. The
partnership between the ASC and
the fest was announced last year.
Society of Cinematographers with
its Lifetime Achievement Award. The
prize was presented Feb. 3 during
the 68th BSC Awards, held at the
Royal Lancaster London Hotel.
In a written tribute to Richmond,
Phil Méheux, BSC noted, " This
award-winning cinematographer
has had numerous collaborations
with director Nicolas Roeg, BSC,
lensing five of his films, including
Don't Look Now - for which Richmond
won the prestigious BAFTA
Award - and The Man Who Fell
to Earth. Some of his other credits
include: The Sandlot; Candyman;
Stardust for Michael Apted; Playing
God; Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights;
Rough Riders for John Milius;
That's Life and Sunset for Blake
Edwards; The Eagle Has Landed
for John Sturges; and The Greek
Tycoon for J. Lee Thompson and
Allen Kline. He also served as DP
on Tony Goldwin's directorial debut,
A Walk on the Moon; Sean Penn's
directorial debut, The Indian Runner;
and Anjelica Huston's directorial
debut, Bastard Out of Carolina, and
collaborated again with [Huston] on
Agnes Browne and Riding the Bus
with My Sister.
" Between films, he has served
as the chair of the cinematography
department at The New York Film
Academy. Anthony has taught the
next generation of cinematographers
and frequently collaborates
with vendors and the outside
community to develop lasting
