Cinematographer Jay Hunter had worked with director Joss Whedon on the TV series Dollhouse and knew him to be a huge Shakespeare fan. “Initially, Joss envisaged it as something almost experimental,” he says. “He wanted to use black-and-white, minimal lighting, and a single location: his house.
