recently voted
membership in the ASC. Visual
effects expert Neil Krepela started out as a
matte camera supervisor on The Empire

den of Proof, the latter of which won an ASC

into active

nomination this year.
Other television credits include

effects director of photography with The

Boy, Torch Song, Men Don't Tell, The Long
Road Home, A Son's Promise, Something in

Boy Who Could Fly in 1986. He designed
systems during the early days

Me-Down Kid. He has also worked in docu¬

matte camera

of ILM, and at Boss Film contributed to the

development of the studio's robotic com¬
puter-controlled COMPSY camera system
and the Aerial Image Matte Camera. He
also helped to design the Computer Space
Tracking System, which uses digital tech¬
nology to seamlessly integrate effects into
moving live action shots.
For 2010, he matted Moscow

paintings into the film because the film
crew couldn't get permission to film there.
