Mind-blowing Thriller from Spain

"concept films" like the equally inventive
Spanish picture Abre los Ojos[Open Your
Eyes, later remade as Vanilla S/ry). After
earning a slew of Goya Awards and
nominations (Spain's equivalent to the
Academy Award), Intacta blew minds at
this year's Sundance Film Festival, where
it generated a buzz among audiences
who enjoy their philosophy with a few
Twilight Zone twists.

cinematographer Xavier Jiminez, who
earned a Goya nomination for the moody,
evocative visual style he brought to his
first feature project.

who lost everything but his life during
World War II. After being stripped of the
gift by his mentor, Federico begins train¬
ing Tomas for a showdown with the
master. However, Tomas is also being
hunted by Sara (Monica Lopez), a police¬
woman who escaped unscathed from a
car crash that claimed her family. Sara's
dogged determination eventually leads
her to infiltrate a shadowy gambling
