Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) has been a longtime supporter of Council initiatives and is leading an effort in Congress to significantly increase federal funding for water and transportation infrastructure throughout the nation. First elected to the House of Representatives in 1996, Blumenauer has served on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the International Affairs Committee. Currently, he is a member of the Ways and Means Committee and the Budget Committee and is vice chairman of the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming.
