W hen Dr. William Wulf, president of the National Academy of Engineering NAE , kicked off the ACEC Annual Convention in Colorado Springs, Colo., in early May, he spoke about diversity in engineering. He argued that diversity is especially important in the industry, but not for the conventional reasons.
