Strategic Healthcare Management provides a comprehensive, systematic overview
of strategy and strategic management in the rapidly changing healthcare
environment. The material is presented in a structured format that offers strategy

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Stephen L. Walston, PhD, is a professor and Director of the Master of Health
Administration at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah.
He previously was the vice president for academic affairs at the University of Utah
Asia Campus at the Incheon Global Campus in Songdo, Korea and a professor
on the faculty of the Division of Public Health in the Department of Family and
Preventive Medicine in the University of Utah's Medical School in Salt Lake City,
Utah. Dr. Walston has been active internationally and has worked in many Middle
Eastern and Central American countries helping organizations to improve their
strategic direction and leadership capabilities. From 2022 through 2023 he and his
wife are taking a leave-of-absence and are serving in southern Africa helping to
direct humanitarian efforts across fourteen countries.
