Modified University Mattering Scale
The University Mattering Scale (France & Finney, 2010) was modified and administered (with permission of the original authors).
On the back side of this paper are a series of statements that represent feelings toward the residential community. For the purpose of
this questionnaire, "residential community" can mean either apartments or residence halls.
Think about your relationships with the people in your residential community and indicate the degree to which each statement is in
line with these relationships. When you respond to these statements, do not think of specific people in the residential community; rather, try
to focus on the residential community in general as an entity or the whole community. By "community" I mean UTA students in your entire
community (apartment area or residence hall). Think of all these people as a whole when responding to these items. There are no right or
wrong answers. Just answer as honestly as possible. Not all students feel the same way or are expected to feel the same way.
