CONCLUSIONS
The sanction enhancement group developed
and piloted by the Division of Housing at the
University of Florida was one of the first published examples of using ADR techniques in
residential student conduct processes. Almost

30 years later, ADR is increasingly used in
these processes, and the available evidence
suggests positive results. While more research
is needed to document ADR implementation
and outcomes for residential student conduct
offices, the use of ADR techniques appears
to be expanding. In the interim, residential
conduct officers may be able to incorporate
various levels and types of ADR into their
current student conduct processes as outlined
in our recommendations.
