Supervision and Job Satisfaction Factors of Residence Directors and Resident Assistants
Synergistic Supervision and Role
Conflict
The first research question was used to examine
whether there was a relationship between perceived level of synergistic supervision received
and role conflict. There was a strong negative
correlation between synergistic supervision and
role conflict, r = -.702, p < .001. Participants who
reported higher levels of role conflict reported
lower levels of perceived synergistic supervision. The overall means and standard deviations
for each scale are included in Table 3.
Synergistic Supervision and Role
Ambiguity
The second research question was used to
examine whether there was a relationship
between perceived level of synergistic supervision received and role ambiguity. There was a
strong negative correlation, r = -.792, p < .001,
between perceived level of synergistic supervision received and level of role ambiguity. Participants who reported higher levels of role
ambiguity reported lower levels of perceived
synergistic supervision.

to Turnover
The third research question asked whether
there was a relationship between perceived
level of synergistic supervision received and intention to turnover. There was a moderate neg-
