Transitions Stanford University Stanford, California Michael Gratz is the new executive director of Stanford Hospitality and Auxiliaries. Along with leading the team that provides for the campus community and guests in all enterprise operations, he will also manage the new 600-bed graduate student residence operations. Gratz held the position of director of hospitality services at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles for 11 years. With an extensive background in national and international hotel management, he has worked for The Mandarin Hotel and Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California; the Bristol Hotel in Paris, France; and the Suvretta House Hotel in St. Moritz, Switzerland. He has studied and apprenticed at international education centers including the Hotel School, Lötscher, Switzerland; Alliance Française in France; the Hotel School, Mügelsberg, Germany; and he is a graduate of the Hospitality Executive Program at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Eric Montell has been promoted to executive director of Stanford Dining. He is responsible for leading Stanford’s award-winning student dining program and is also leading the Athletic Training Table Program in partnership with Stanford Athletics, the Executive Culinary Program for the Graduate School of Business, and Stanford Dining’s Sustainability Program. Prior to this position, Montell served as senior associate director of Stanford Dining. He previously worked for Marriott Management Services as the director of operations at Stanford Hospital and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. Montell is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, and studied hotel and restaurant management at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. 1 Talking Stick University of Maryland, College Park College Park, Maryland The following staff members are new to the campus: Sarah Beth Bailey is the new coordinator of educational and outreach programs. Carlton Marshall Jr. is the new graduate assistant for South Campus Commons. Nicole Mehta is the new graduate coordinator for human resources. Danielle Nied is the new resident director for Centreville Hall. Brittney Saranko is the new graduate coordinator for recruitment programs and outreach. Rebecca Villarreal is the new graduate coordinator for human resources. Hannah Wu is the new community director for the Cambridge Community. The following staff members have moved to new positions within the residence life department: Daniel Ach is the new resident director for South Campus Commons 1 and 2. Alanna Biblow is the new graduate administrative coordinator for North Campus. Carolyn Ellison is the new graduate administrative coordinator for Ellicott Community. Olivia Frary is the new graduate administrative coordinator for North Hill Community. Olan Garrett is the new manager of educational and outreach programs. Dawnyéa Jackson is the new graduate administrative coordinator for Leonardtown. Ashlee Kerkhoff is the new program assistant for the Denton Community Initiative. Tom Lamp is the new IT manager for software engineering. Angela Jackson Powell is the new coordinator for human resources. David Turner is the new community director for the Denton Community.
