by Norbert W. Dunkel and Tom Jackson Jr. I n January, 88 senior housing and student affairs professionals from nine countries came together for the ACUHO-I Global Housing Summit in Hong Kong. The ever-changing face of housing and residence education was the primary topic of discussion, which included conversations about identifying challenges, sharing experiences and solutions, and discovering new ideas. The group also visited three campuses on Hong Kong Island and the New Territories – the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Polytechnic Institute, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong – and Science Park, a science and technology incubator that opened in 2003 and has already developed 169 businesses. Participants in the study group valued every minute of exposure and were grateful to have another opportunity to broaden their perspective of higher education into a truly global view.
