CBORD Ithaca, New York
Karen Sammon has joined the executive team as the senior vice president of operations. In her new role, she will be responsible for the company operations supporting CBORD’s card systems, housing systems, food and nutrition management solutions, and integrated security product lines.

GLHN Architects and Engineers, Inc. Tuscon, Arizona
Cloriza Lomeli, who is the associate director of business development for GLHN, has been elected to APPA’s Rocky Mountain Region Board. She is their first non-institutional member.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges Geneva, New York
Stacey Pierce was selected as the director of residential education in July 2010. She most recently had worked as an assistant director at Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York. Pierce is currently a doctoral student at the University of Maryland University College in Adelphi. Brandon B. Barile became the assistant director of housing operations in June 2010. He was previously a community director at Ithaca College in New York. Prior to that, he worked as a residence hall director at State University of New York in Cortland and Keuka College in Keuka Park, New York. Barile holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Keuka College and a Master of Arts in social sciences from Binghamton University, State University of New York. He currently is a member of the ACUHO-I IT Committee and LGBT Network. Jason Boring is an area coordinator. Darnell Pierce is an area coordinator.

Jacksonville University Jacksonville, Florida
Devon Scheible is the new director of residential life. Amber Davis Blackburn is the new assistant director of residential life for operations.

Denison University Granville, Ohio
Ashleigh Wade is the new assistant director of residential life for West Quad. She works with a community of primarily first-year students. Wade previously worked as a hall director at the University of Toledo in Ohio. She completed her masters’ work in higher education in Toledo and received her undergraduate degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio.

Mac-Gray Corporation Waltham, Massachusetts
Steve Baumer and Leslie Bird are new regional account managers. Both were hired in December 2010 and are responsible for representing Mac-Gray product lines and services to all academic customers and prospects in their respective geographic territories. Baumer’s region includes the Mid-Atlantic area (Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, and Western Pennsylvania) and Bird’s region includes Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

Dominican College Orangeburg, New York
Ryan O’Gorman is the new director of residence life. Previously he was the assistant director of residence life for six years and also the coordinator of volunteer services for residents.

Texas A&M University College Station, Texas
Dan Mizer is the new senior associate director of residence life. He will assist the director in the overall management and global coordination of the oncampus housing program for the department of residence life, which includes facilities and operations, residence education programs, technology needs, and contracts and assignments and conference services for 42 residence halls, 10,000 students, and 650 apartments. Jennifer Shoemaker is the new program coordinator for the University Apartments.

IN MEMORIAM:

Audrey L. Rentz Dr. Audrey L. Rentz, professor emeritus at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, passed away on November 25, 2010. Dr. Rentz came to BGSU in 1974 with a joint appointment in the division of student affairs and the college student personnel department. In September 1978 she became a full-time faculty member. Having made a difference in lives of countless students, Dr. Rentz retired from BGSU in December of 1996 after 24 years of service and continued to teach on a part-time basis in 1997.
