The cottages at Bryn Athyn College were
inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement that
influenced regional architecture throughout
the Philadelphia suburbs. The cottages feature
Wissahickon schist walls and steeply pitched
roofs with thick, gray-blue shingles. Each of the
four cottages houses 10 upper-division students.
Each structure features a covered front porch,
a foyer, a large living and dining area with
cathedral ceilings, and an open-style kitchen.
The cottages are arranged around a courtyard
perfect for casual gatherings and afternoon
visiting. Residents enjoy close relationships
with their cottage-mates and RAs in the homey
atmosphere of the cottages through regular
social events and residence hall meetings.
