Instead, honor has been the reward
for what they gave.
This year, the newest members
of the ACUHO-I Wall of Honor
gave generously and have been
rightfully recognized for their
contributions. The 2019 recipients
can take particular pride in their
accomplishments as a revamped
award process yielded 150

OUTSTANDING
GRADUATE STUDENT
Alysha Daley, Arkansas Tech
University

lysha Daley is a second-year
student in the College Student Personnel program at
Arkansas Tech University. There she
serves as a resident director and is pursuing a degree in College Student Personnel
after earning a bachelor's degree from the
University of Nebraska at Kearney. Her
goal is to continue to work within student
housing, with a focus on student development, academic initiatives, and living-learning communities.
Daley has remained active in her
work, along with her studies. She attended the ACUHO-I Academic Initiatives
Conference to prepare for working with a
first-year experience living-learning community. While a NODA intern at Rhode
Island College, she developed a privilege
awareness session for incoming students
and continued this work at Arkansas Tech
where she facilitates Safe Zone Training
sessions. In addition, she has served on
various departmental and divisional committees, including those for resident director training, resident director recruitment,

applications. In addition, new

the outstanding work being done
by professionals at various points
along their career trajectory. Let us
recognize those who have given
much back to their Association
and their profession.

2019 ACUHO-I Wall of Honor

OUTSTANDING NEW
PROFESSIONAL
Olivia Moon, University of South
Florida

livia Moon currently serves
as a coordinator for academic initiatives at the University of South Florida. Moon originally
received a bachelor's degree in biology,
with a minor in communication studies, from Florida Gulf Coast University.
Through the continued support from an
undergraduate mentor, she then attended
the University of South Florida where she
earned a master's in education with a concentration in college student affairs. Now
in her third year as a full-time coordinator
for academic initiatives, Moon works with
14 living-learning communities, six faculty-in-residence, and 20 faculty fellows.
In addition, Moon has been a member
of the USF Residential Curriculum Committee for two years, working to align departmental goals with those of the larger
university in a way that mirrors students'
natural progression through college. To
support students on a smaller scale, she
became certified as a health and wellness
coach and has since used her training to
partner with the school's Center for Student Well-Being and to serve as a volunteer student success and wellness coach for
residential students. She also has become
increasingly involved with ACUHO-I. In
2017, she presented three sessions at the

awards were created to recognize

associate dean recruitment, and student
affairs conduct board, in addition to leading a mentoring initiative for resident assistants seeking a career in student affairs.
Finally, she also served as the advisor to
the John Tucker Chapter of the National
Residence Hall Honorary, which is yet another example of how she goes above and
beyond her position description to better
serve her institution and its students.
