Top Technologies Genetic analysis system Fluidigm’s benchtop EP1 system for genetic analysis uses integrated fluidic circuits (IFC) to deliver high quality SNP genotyping results with high call rates and an accuracy of 99.75% or greater. Each IFC chip can provide up to 9216 data points and the system can provide more than 27000 genotypes a day. Digital PCR, such as for copy number variation analysis, can also be performed using the system, which can easily distinguish between four and five copies, and provides results in only a few hours. The system’s nozzle assembly produces high droplet frequencies at relatively low pressures, which enables high-speed sorting while maintaining cell viability and functionality. For aseptic sorting, exchangeable fluidics allow researchers to replace a sample line or the complete fluidics path, from sheath tank to nozzle tip. The cycler holds half a 96-well plate in a horizontal format so that it offers 8 columns for annealing temperature optimisation and 6 rows for optimising reagents and primer concentrations. Annealing temperatures can be optimised over a 15 C gradient for 20–80 C. The system also features an adjustable heated lid, a rapid heating rate and fast-track programming. The MultiSub range is constructed using injection moulding technology and offers easy-to-use, leak-proof gel casting.
