We want to know what ergonomic issues are hurting them and, most important, what can be done to overcome these issues. We have developed safety leadership and job-specific safety teams of workers to address concerns that are identified. One such example is that of our gas workers doing periodic meter changes. Our gas safety team worked with a local manufacturer and developed a tool to carry and hold gas meters when they are removed and installed. This started out with a handheld device for the smaller residential meters and has progressed to a lift cart for the large commercial meters.
