Alaska Tour & Travel offers a complete choice of rail destinations and
class of service. All tour packages are fully customizable and you can
choose the class for each rail leg you travel.
Alaska Railroad Adventure Class
Adventure Class is the Alaska Railroad's
standard service. Travel in a single level car
with high ceilings and picture windows. Tour
highlights are provided by Alaska Railroad
guides. Dining and bar service are available in the Wilderness Café car
on the Denali Star and Coastal Classic rail routes. More limited " grab
and go " dining options are available on the Glacier Discovery rail route.

AL ASK A R AIL ROUTES & SCHEDULES
The Alaska Railroad offers three routes spanning over 470 miles with
daily scheduled service from mid-May to mid-September to eight
different Alaskan communities.

Denali Star

Anchorage - Talkeetna - Denali Park - Fairbanks
The Denali Star travels 350 miles on a daily service between Anchorage and
Fairbanks with stops in Talkeetna and Denali. Much of the route parallels
the border of Denali National Park and the Alaska Range. Service choices of
Adventure Class, Goldstar, or Wilderness Express.

Alaska Railroad Goldstar Dome
Goldstar is the Alaska Railroad's premium,
two-level dome service. Upper dome
seating features full length curved windows
and bar service along with an outdoor
platform. The lower level features a full-service dining room.
Meals and beverages are included.

Coastal Classic 	
Anchorage - Seward on the Alaska Railroad
The Coastal Classic travels 114 miles between Anchorage and Seward. Some
say it is the most scenic rail trip in Alaska, with coastal vistas, glacial views, and
mountain passes. It is a very popular cruise transfer to Seward. Service choices
include Adventure Class or Goldstar.

The Wilderness Express
The Wilderness Express is the newest private
dome rail service in Alaska. Luxurious cars
feature an upper level glass dome and
reclining leather seats. The lower level has
an outdoor vestibule and a dining room serving gourmet Alaskan
specialties. The Wilderness Express travels on the Denali Star schedule
between Anchorage and Fairbanks.

The McKinley Explorer travels on a unique schedule with a later north bound
departure from Anchorage, and an earlier southbound departure from Denali,
resulting in an earlier arrival into Anchorage.

Glacier Discovery 	
The McKinley Explorer
The McKinley Explorer is a premium dome
service operated by Holland AmericaPrincess. It features upper level dome
seating, a lower level restaurant, and
outdoor vestibule.It operates a unique schedule between Anchorage,
Talkeetna, and Denali.

Anchorage - Whittier - Spencer - Grandview
The Glacier Discovery provides daily service from Anchorage to Whittier, then
travels onward to remote Spencer Glacier and Grandview Pass in the Chugach
National Forest before returning along the same route. It's a popular cruise
transfer to Whittier, but schedule-wise does not work as a cruise transfer from
Whittier. The Glacier Discovery only offers Adventure Class.
