ADA Walking Challenge
Participate in the third annual Scientific
Sessions Walking Challenge, sponsored
by AstraZeneca.

The first 1,200 attendees to complete the
registration form and pick up a tracker
will compete in a meeting-long competition to see who takes the most steps!
You can register during the meeting at
the Walking Challenge booth, which will
be located in the Sails Pavilion at the San
Diego Convention Center. You can check
the monitors by the Walking Challenge
booth or the AstraZeneca booth in the
exhibit hall to check on your progress
during the meeting.

The challenge will begin on Friday, June
9 at noon and end on Monday, June 12 at
11:59 p.m. You will need to download an
app onto your iOS or Android device.
We challenge all attendees, and those
participating in the challenge, to take
77,000 steps over the days of the meeting
to commemorate our 77 years of service
to those affected by diabetes.

Alvin C. Powers, MD, will deliver the President, Medicine & Science Address, "A New ADA for a New Age," on Sunday, June 11.
The recipients of the Association's highest scientific achievement awards also will present lectures at this year's meeting:
Domenico Accili, MD, will present the Banting Lecture, "The New Biology of Diabetes," on Sunday, June 11.
Gregory R. Steinberg, PhD, will deliver the Outstanding Scientific Achievement Award Lecture, "Energy Sensing and Metabolism-
Implications for Treating Diabetes," on Monday, June 12.
Davida F. Kruger, MSN, APRN-BC, BC-ADM, will give the Outstanding Educator in Diabetes Award Lecture, "A Toast to Our History," on
Saturday, June 10.
Dana Dabelea, MD, PhD, will present the Kelly West Award Lecture, "Diabetes in Youth-Looking Backwards to Inform the Future" on
Sunday, June 11.
