Pathway to Stop Diabetes Symposium to be Held at 77th Scientific
Sessions in San Diego
The American Diabetes Association's Pathway to Stop
Diabetes initiative has funded four classes of researchers to date, and these Pathway scientists are already
making remarkable contributions to the field of diabetes research. In response to tremendous interest in their
work, there will be an open-access session at this year's
scientific sessions featuring Pathway awardees.
ADA PATHWAY TO STOP DIABETES SYMPOSIUM
Saturday, June 10
1:45-3:45 p.m. San Diego Convention Center, Room 31
Hear the latest updates from six Pathway awardees, who
will deliver short lectures during this symposium.
Attendees will hear about using nanotechnology to improve wound healing in diabetes; a novel approach to
targeting diet-induced obesity through the nervous
system; the intersection of diet and intestinal stem
cells in regulating metabolism; the effects of maternal
obesity and gestational diabetes on obesity in children;
how high levels of certain dietary metabolites are linked
to impaired glucose and lipid metabolism; and an engineering-based delivery system for automated insulin
release via a wearable patch.
The American Diabetes Association thanks Pathway
program sponsors Novo Nordisk, Sanofi, AstraZeneca,
Merck, and the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation, and
the numerous other generous corporations, individuals,
