Final Installment of ADA Member-Exclusive " Hands On " Webinar
Series Begins
The American Diabetes Association (ADA) began its third and final year of programs in the member-exclusive
" Hands On: Tips to Improve Diabetes Care " webinar series in early April.
More than 2,200 diabetes professionals have attended a " Hands On " webinar so far to learn about high-interest
topics related to diabetes technology, behavioral health, and primary care. To date, the member-exclusive series
has featured 26 webinars presented by more than 65 expert diabetes care professionals.
The remaining webinars in 2022 cover a wide range of topics, from obesity management to suicidal ideation
in people with diabetes to advances in hybrid closed-loop systems. All webinars are free to ADA professional
members and offer up to 1 continuing education (CE) credit per webinar. The remaining Year 3 dates and
topics include:
* June 14: Exercise Management and Diabetes Technology
* July 12: Navigating Suicidal Ideation in Patients with Diabetes
* August 9: Clinical Update: Treatment Intensification with Non-Insulin Therapies
* September 13: Overcoming Financial and Logistical Barriers to Deliver Optimal Diabetes Care
* October 11: Incorporating Positive Affect into Diabetes Self-Management
* November 8: New Options in Hybrid Closed-Loop Systems
* December 13: " Hands On " Series Wrap-up
To learn more or register for any upcoming webinars, ADA members can visit the Professional Webinar Series
page on the ADA's DiabetesPro website.
ADA members can catch up on all missed webinars in the " Hands On " series by visiting the Professional
Education Portal. Members can also earn CE credits for Year 2 and Year 3 sessions (April 2021-present) by
following the steps to claim their credit after viewing their selected sessions.
The " Hands On " series was developed by leaders of the Behavioral Medicine and Psychology, Diabetes in
Primary Care, and Diabetes Technology Interest Groups and is made possible by the generous support of the
Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.
Professional Interest Group Networking
Events Planned for Scientific Sessions
Several of the American Diabetes Association's
Professional Interest Groups will host networking events
during the 82nd Scientific Sessions, June 3-7, in New
Orleans, LA. These in-person events provide a venue for
members to engage with their Interest Group Leadership
Team members, network with other members who
share their professional interests, and learn more about
planned and ongoing Interest Group activities.
More information about these networking events will
be communicated by email to members who register
for this year's Scientific Sessions. To learn more about
the Association's Professional Interest Groups, visit
