Interest Group Leadership Teams Transition to Include New Leaders
The American Diabetes Association's (ADA's) 16 membersonly
Interest Groups are each led by a leadership team
composed of seven professionals. Each leadership
team includes the following positions: chair, chair-elect,
immediate past chair, communications director, earlycareer
representative, and advisors. These positions
require varying levels of career experience in the field of
diabetes. Positions are filled for 2-year terms and require
time commitments ranging from 4 to 8 hours per week.
These leaders may coordinate Interest Group discussion
sessions at ADA's annual Scientific Sessions, vote on award
nominees, host networking events, recognize early-career

July 1, many of the 16 Interest Group Leadership Teams gained
new members and transitioned chair-elects into the chair role.
The Association welcomes the new team members and
looks forward to working with these professionals in the
