LONDON-Hydraulic fracture tracer
technology provider Tracerco says it has
obtained a patent for its oil and gas flow
measurement technology, which allows
empirical measurement of true hydrocarbon flow from a well's individual
stages.

GASFRAC Wins Accolade For Waterless Fracturing
CALGARY-At the 27th Annual Edison
Awards, GASFRAC Energy Services Inc.
received the gold award in the commercial
resource management segment of the energy and sustainability category for its
Vantage® waterless fracturing process.
The Vantage process uses a liquid petroleum gas gel rather than conventional
fracturing fluid. According to GASFRAC,
the gel's low surface tension, viscosity
and density combine to create more effective fracturing lengths that enable
higher initial and long-term production.
The company adds that the gel allows
for 100 percent recovery of fracturing
fluids within days, which reduces cleanup
and waste disposal costs, as well as postjob truck traffic.
Being recognized with an Edison
Award is one of the highest accolades a
company can receive in the names of innovation and business, GASFRAC says,
noting that the awards are named after
world-changing inventor Thomas Edison.

Buckhorn Buys Assets
To Serve Permian Basin
DENVER-Buckhorn Energy Services
LLC reports it has expanded into the
Permian Basin by acquiring five saltwater
disposal wells, two brine stations, and
two freshwater wells in Texas' Ector,
Martin, and Ward counties.
"This acquisition continues our expansion of facilities that bring contracted water
by pipeline and further demonstrates our
commitment to grow Buckhorn into one
of the critical oil services provided to operators in the Permian Basin," says Buckhorn
Chief Executive Officer Gary Ebel.
Ebel points out that the company also
operates saltwater disposal facilities and
water pipelines in the Bakken area of
North Dakota.

To Distribute Its OCTG Line
HOUSTON-TMK IPSCO reports it
has signed a full-line agreement for oil
country tubular goods distribution with
Sooner Pipe LLC.

Caterpillar Unveils Pump
For Demanding Frac Jobs
HOUSTON-Caterpillar Oil & Gas has
expanded its portfolio of pressure pumps
by launching Cat® WS305 XD, a 3,000
horsepower quintuplex well stimulation
pump.
"Since introducing the Cat pressure
pumps last year, we have seen incredible
demand from customers seeking one source
for comprehensive power solutions on their
trailers," says Scott Roberts, Caterpillar
Oil & Gas' well stimulation product marketing manager. "The WS305 XD is our
newest offering, aimed at providing customers with even more power and flexibility
for their trailers operating in the harshest
conditions."
The pump is part of Caterpillar's extreme duty series, the company notes.
Because it features fluid ends and power
ends designed to an industry standard
footprint, it is easy to fit into existing
trailer designs, Caterpillar says, adding
that the fluid ends have a valve-overvalve design to simplify valve, seat, and
plunger installation.
