Observa radiation area monitoring system

To Streamline Water Use

BAKERSFIELD, CA.-Rain for Rent
is partnering with Omni Water Solutions

ACTIVATE Refracturing Introduced By Halliburton
HOUSTON-Halliburton has launched
its ACTIVATE refracturing service, which
it describes as a collaborative workflow
that leverages subsurface insight, expertise
and breakthrough diversion technology
to recover bypassed reserves from unconventional wells with more predictability
and repeatability.
According to Halliburton, operators
now can increase their ability to build a
balanced portfolio with production distributed across new wells, infills and refractures
in order to drive down their assets' cost
per barrel of oil equivalent break-even

point. With ACTIVATE, Halliburton says
it can help operators increase their ultimate
recovery and bookable reserves.
In basins where it has delivered ACTIVATE Service, Halliburton says operators
are seeing an 80 percent average increase
in wells' estimated ultimate recoveries, a
66 percent cost reduction per barrel of oil
equivalent from refractured wells compared
with new wells, and a potential increase as
great as 25 percent in the oil recovery
factor with a balanced portfolio.

Plunger Lift Saves Money Even In High-Liquid Wells
MIDLAND-Production Lift Systems
Inc. (PLSI) reports it has achieved a 90
percent success rate with a procedure
that can reduce artificial lift costs in highliquid wells as much as 90 percent.
According to PLSI, the procedure involves using a bypass plunger rather than
an electric submersible or beam pump to
provide artificial lift in wells that produce
more than 1,000 barrels of fluid a day.
The company says this reduces costs from
installation on. Unlike an ESP, the plunger
can be installed without pumping brine
down hole to stop the well's flow. PLSI

adds that the system is powered solely by
the well's gas pressure. The only electricity
required is for the monitoring telemetry,
and that is provided by solar panels.
For a bypass plunger to be effective,
the well must have sufficient downhole
pressure to flow most of the time, PLSI
cautions. In such wells, the company
says the plunger can have a productive
life of one to two years, much longer
than the 150-day average expectancy for
an ESP in the Southern Delaware Basin.

Hoover Launches Line Of Offshore Acid Tanks

HOUSTON-Hoover Container Solutions, a global provider of chemical tanks,
cargo carrying units and related products
and services, announces its new acid
tanks for safely transporting and storing

corrosive liquids and chemicals.
According to Hoover, the tanks are
constructed using carbon steel for the
vessel, piping, valves, instruments and
welds to withstand offshore service. Corrosion-resistant carbon steel is used to
construct the external frame of the tank
as well. Hoover says the tanks' interior
linings vary based on what chemicals are
being stored within the tank, which ensures
maximum corrosion protection.
