IOGANY Plans Meeting
At Peek'n Peak Resort
HAMBURG, N.Y.-The Independent
Oil & Gas Association of New York
will hold its 37th annual summer
meeting on July 12-13 at the Peek'n
Peak Resort and Conference Center in
Clymer, N.Y.
IOGANY Executive Director Brad
Gill says the association has scheduled
a day of technical seminars that will
cover industry, regulatory and
legislative issues, to be followed by a
day that combines recreational
opportunities, including golf and
shooting clays, with a barbecue and
outdoor exposition.
Industry topics to be covered during
the seminars on Wednesday, July 12,
include marginal well economics,
waterfloods, seismic monitoring,
markets for compressed natural gas,
supply and demand, the Army Corps of
Engineers permitting process, and
pipeline infrastructure. Regulators'
efforts to update the State
Environmental Quality Review Act also
will be covered.
On the political front, Gill says
speakers will discuss the impacts
President Trump is expected to have on
the energy sector and how the state
legislature is affecting New York's
energy community. He adds one
speaker, in particular, is very close to
the Trump administration and promises
to deliver a very enlightening
presentation about the new
administration and possible implications
for New York. Several representatives
from the state's congressional
delegation will offer federal legislative
updates.
A cocktail reception will close the
day's agenda.
On Thursday, July 13, Gill says
IOGANY will offer an 18-hole
scramble golf tournament on Peek'n
Peak's Upper Course, and a sporting
clays shoot at Critter Path Sporting
Clays, in Waterford, Pa.
A barbecue will run from noon to 6
p.m. on July 13, simultaneously with
the annual equipment show. He notes
the barbecue will offer unlimited food,
beverages, beer and ice cream.

April Crude Production
Reaches 9.2 MMbbl/d
WASHINGTON-U.S. crude oil
production continued to climb in April,
reaching 9.2 million barrels a day, the
second highest April output since 1973,
according to the American Petroleum
Institute's Monthly Statistical Report.
API says April oil production
increased 1.0 percent from March, and
was up 3.4 percent from April 2016. It
also was the highest monthly production
since November 2015.
For year to date, API adds, crude
production was up 2.2 percent
compared with 2016.
Natural gas liquids production,
meanwhile, was down from the prior
year, but up from the prior month and
the prior year to date. API says NGL
production in April averaged nearly 3.5
MMbbl/d, down 1.5 percent from April
2016, but up 0.4 percent from March
2017 and up 1.4 percent from the prior
year to date. This was the second highest
April output level on record, API notes.
According to reports from
Baker Hughes Inc., API says the
average U.S. rig count for April was
853. That was up 8.1 percent from
March's count of 789, and was up 94.7
percent from April 2016's 438 count.
API reports crude oil stocks ended
April at 525.8 million barrels-the highest
April inventory level since 1930.
Nevertheless, API says crude stocks
were down 7.7 million barrels, or 1.4
percent, from March, but were up 19.5
million barrels or 3.9 percent from April
2016.
Total petroleum deliveries in April
moved up by 1.7 percent from April
2016 to average 19.6 MMbbl/d, API
continues. That was highest petroleum
demand for the month since 2008. Still,
API says, petroleum demand was down
0.3 percent from March. Year to date,
API says, total domestic petroleum
deliveries moved up 0.1 percent to
average 19.4 MMbbl/d.
API says that at nearly 9.3 MMbbl/d,
April gasoline deliveries were up from
March and April 2016, but down from
the prior year to date. April gasoline
demand was up 0.4 percent from
March, up 0.6 percent from April 2016,
but down 1.3 percent year to date.
Distillate deliveries for April were
the highest since 2007, according to the
report. API says distillate deliveries
averaged 4.2 MMbbl/d, up 9.7 percent
compared with April 2016, up 2.0
percent from March, and up 3.1 percent
year to date.
U.S. total petroleum imports in April
averaged nearly 10.2 MMbbl/d, up 1.6
percent from March and up 3.3 percent
from April 2016. Year to date, API
reports, total petroleum imports were up
3.4 percent compared with 2016.
Crude oil imports increased 3.4
percent from April 2016 to just below
7.9 MMbbl/d, API adds. Compared
with March, crude oil imports were 0.4
percent higher, and year to date were up
2.7 percent. r
