New Tool Reduces Risk Of Well Control Incident
TULSA-D&L Oil Tools' patented
ProTension™ Safe Tension Tool (STT)
improves well site safety by eliminating
the potential for loss of well control when
pulling a tubing string into tension, D&L
says. The company adds that the tool allows operators to safely set tubing anchors
and other downhole tools in tension.
The STT is ideal for oil wells that
eventually will require artificial lift, D&L
says. Its new tool ensures continuous
well control when setting the production
string in tension. When installed between
the tubing hanger and production tubing,
tension can be pulled into the work string
without removing the blowout preventer
or overstretching the tubing, the company
explains.

For URTeC Conference
TULSA-Registration is open for the
2019 Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC), scheduled
for July 22-24 at Denver's Colorado Convention Center.
The event will feature 300 presentations
covering the exploration and development
of unconventional resources, as well as a
new midstream session, the organizers
report. They say URTeC is the industry's
fastest-growing event, noting that in 2018,
6,000 engineers, geologists and geophysicists attended to learn new ways to increase
efficiency, reduce operating costs, and
maximize profits.
URTeC is sponsored by the Society
of Petroleum Engineers, the American
Association of Petroleum Geologists and
the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
The conference's website says it aims to
unite the disciplines by bringing the entire
asset team together under one roof to
connect on all things unconventional.

million Permian Basin Service Center
in Odessa expands its longtime Permian
Basin presence to meet the growing demand for digital technologies to optimize

The 16,000-square-foot facility also
