Ben Clapp has joined Babst Calland's
Washington, D.C., office as an associate
in the environmental, energy and natural
resources, and emerging technologies
practice groups.
For the past decade, Clapp has advised clients on environmental and
transactional matters across several industries, including the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas
sectors. He has experience identifying
and analyzing environmental liability
and compliance issues associated with
mergers and acquisitions, asset sales,
securities offerings, project financings
and corporate restructurings.

Flotek Industries Inc. has named
John W. Gibson Jr. its chairman, chief
executive officer and president.
Gibson has 35 years' experience in
the energy technology, service and exploration and production sectors of the
energy industry. He comes to Flotek
from Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Company,
where he served as chairman of energy
technology. His other past roles include
president and CEO of Tervita Corp.,
president and CEO of Paradigm Geophysical and Landmark Graphics Corp.,
and president of Halliburton Co.'s energy
services group.

Basic Energy Services Inc. has appointed Keith L. Schilling its president,
chief executive officer and director.
Schilling has two decades' experience
in senior managerial positions with
major service companies. Most recently,
he served Baker Hughes as president of
Baker Hughes Canada, director, sales
and commercial, and president of surface
for the North America region. Before
that, he was senior vice president for
TETRA Technologies Inc.

NexTier Oilfield Solutions Inc. has
promoted Kenneth Pucheu to senior
vice president and chief financial officer.
Pucheu has served as vice president
of finance at Keane Group Inc. since
2016 and at NexTier since October 2019,
following the merger of Keane and C&J
Energy Services Inc. Previously, he spent
15 years at Schlumberger Ltd. in seniorlevel positions, including head of finance
for drilling and measurements, and director
of finance for North America offshore.❒
Continental Resources Inc. Founder
and Chief Executive Officer Harold
Hamm has become the company's executive chairman. William Berry will succeed Hamm as CEO and President Jack
Stark will assume the additional role of
chief operating officer.
Berry has spent four decades in oil and
gas roles, including as an executive with
ConocoPhillips, where he was responsible
for global operations managing 10,000
employees and $12 billion in capital expenditures. He has served on Continental's
board of directors since 2014.

Steven Schlotterbeck, retired chief
executive officer of EQT Corp., has joined
the board of directors for fracture measurement company Reveal Energy Services
as chairman.
During his 18-year career at EQT,
Schlotterbeck helped the company transform from a small, local gas distributer
into the United States' largest natural gas
producer. While serving as senior vice
president of reserve development, he
managed development of modern fracturing techniques. Schlotterbeck was also
the CEO and a director of affiliated
pipeline companies EQT Midstream Partners, EQT GP Holdings and Rice Midstream Partners.

The American Exploration & Production
Council, a national trade association representing 29 of the United States' largest
independent producers, has named Anne
Bradbury its chief executive officer.
Bradbury served as one of the top legislative strategists and technicians in Congress as floor director to two successive
speakers of the House of Representatives

and deputy floor director in the offices
of both the majority and minority leaders.
During her decade on Capitol Hill, she
was instrumental in major rules packages
and legislation related to national security,
health care, energy, transportation, trade
and education.

CLEVENGER

Law firm Vinson & Elkins has promoted Nick Shum of Houston to partner,
complex commercial litigation. Shum's
practice focuses on representing and
advising clients in energy industry disputes related to joint operating agreements or joint ventures, purchase and
sale or merger transactions, leasing, hydraulic fracturing operations and royalties. He recently secured unanimous
jury verdicts for Antero Resources Corp.
in two breach of contract cases.
The firm also promoted Suzanne Clevenger of Houston to partner, energy regulation. Clevenger advises clients on regulatory requirements for midstream assets.
She also helps negotiate midstream service
agreements related to interstate gas and
liquids pipelines, gathering pipelines and
processing facilities, as well as agreements
to sell or buy commodities.

ThoughtTrace Inc., a provider of artificial intelligence-driven document intelligence and contract analytics, has
appointed Arthur Medina vice president
of digital transformation.
Medina previously served as an executive at a private equity-backed energy
consulting firm. He has assisted exploration, drilling and production companies, mineral and royalty companies,
alternative energy firms and financial
institutions carrying out upstream operations, acquisitions and divestitures,
asset optimization and digital transformation campaigns.
