Texas Approves Tax Credit For Deploying AssurEOR
HOUSTON-The Railroad Commission
of Texas has approved a 10-year H13 tax
credit for using Locus Bio-Energy Solutions'
green technology AssurEOR enhanced oil
recovery program, the company reports.
The biosurfactant treatment program
offers a cost-effective and environmentally
friendly way to sustainably increase oil
production 40% and reduce operating
costs, Locus Bio-Energy says, adding
that the upfront costs are low.
The H13 credit qualifies leases for a
50% severance tax credit under Statewide
Rule 50. Locus Bio-Energy says the credit
applies to all lease production for 10 years
as long as treatments are continued and
an increase in production is maintained.

"This rarely granted approval provides
technical validation that AssurEOR is a
proven EOR technology operators can use
to consistently enhance production, prolong
the economic lives of their wells and minimize new drilling," says Jonathan Rogers,
the company's chief executive officer. "It's
a much-needed financial win for the industry
and a win for the environment."
An operator that produces 10,000 barrels of oil a day at $23 a barrel could
save nearly $2 million in taxes, while a
larger company with 100,000 bbl/d would
save almost $19 million annually, Locus
Bio-Energy calculates.

PESA Launches Center
For Sharing ESG Advice
HOUSTON-The Petroleum Equipment & Services Association has launched
its environmental, social and governance
(ESG) Center of Excellence, which it
introduces as a Web-based clearinghouse
of ESG information and resources.
According to PESA, the Center of
Excellence will share:
· Best practices from within the sector
on improving business practices, understanding reporting standards and navigating
ESG frameworks;
· PESA's ESG advocacy with government officials and other stakeholders;
· Training and knowledge sharing
program information;
· Upcoming ESG events, including
PESA-sponsored seminars and speakers;
and
· ESG-related news and updates on
member or industry efforts to promote
ESG.
The association also is introducing an
ESG-focused individual certification program. Through education and training modeled after its executive development and
inclusion and diversity certifications, PESA
says this program will help member companies navigate ESG elements and examine
the criteria used by socially conscious investors to evaluate business practices.
