Inc. announces FracSense™, a diagnostic
service for optimizing hydraulic fracturing
and well spacing.
Launched in partnership with OptaSense,
a Luna Innovations company,
the service utilizes real-time fiber-optic
measurements to monitor per stage fracture
placement and frac hits in offset wells,
Liberty describes. Since the technology
can be conveyed by wireline, it also can
be used to profile production in producing
wells, the company adds.

Production Commences At Tenaris' U.S. Melt Shop
HOUSTON- Tenaris announces its
first melt shop in the United States has
come on line. The company says the
shop will supply steel bars for its seamless
pipe mills in the United States and
Canada.
Located in Koppel, Pa., the shop became
part of Tenaris when the company
acquired IPSCO in 2020. Tenaris says
it has invested a year and $15 million
in upgrades to integrate the facility into
its global network of steel mills.
" The vertical integration of Tenaris
coverage and perforation cluster designs
and their impact on cluster efficiency,
Liberty says. It also reveals the fluid and
proppant volume to first frac hit response,
improving fracture length and fracture
height model calibration as well as evaluating
effective well spacing, Liberty
continues. The company says the data allows
it to help operators determine diversion
techniques or alternate stage spacing,
as well as fine-tune perforation designs
for optimal cluster efficiency in real time.

Before bringing its melt shop in Koppel,
Pa. on line, Tenaris spent $15 million
on upgrades. According to the company,
improvements included new
molds for the caster, where the liquid
steel is solidified; new cranes to transfer
scrap metal to the furnaces; and a
new production management system.

First Production Comes In
From LLOG's Praline Field
COVINGTON, LA.-LLOG Exploration
Co. LLC announces first production
from the Praline Field, a discovery
in Mississippi Canyon Block 74.
The Praline well was drilled in 2,600
feet of water to a total depth of 13,400 feet
and discovered 125 feet of net hydrocarbons.
The well was completed in August
2020 and has been tied back to the Talos
Energy-operated Pompano platform,
LLOG relates. The company notes it is the
operator with a 27.25% working interest,
and its partners in the field are entities managed
by Ridgewood Energy Corp., including
ILX Holdings, Red Willow Offshore,
Houston Energy and CL&F Offshore.
" We are pleased to announce first oil
from our Praline Field, our first pipe-inpipe
tieback, " comments Philip LeJeune,
LLOG's president and chief executive officer.
