Form Deepwater Developer
HOUSTON-Quantum Energy Partners
and Houston Energy announce the
formation of HEQ Deepwater with more
than $400 million of equity capital commitments
from Quantum and management.
The companies say HEQ Deepwater
aims to build a diverse portfolio
of development-stage upstream and infrastructure
assets in the deepwater Gulf
of Mexico.

SCHWEIKART
SPOC Automation has named Brad
" BJ " Schweikart as quality assurance
manager.
Schweikart is a certified quality engineer
who holds an M.S. in data analytics
from the University of Missouri.
He has 10 years of engineering experience,
including leading and managing
quality management systems, supervising
quality auditors and working closely
with new product development engineering
to develop inspection, testing
and control plans for products. r
Newpark Resources Inc. has promoted
Matthew Lanigan to president
and chief operating officer and named
Lori Briggs president of Newpark Industrial
Solutions.
Lanigan joined Newpark in April
2016 as president of Newpark Industrial
Solutions. Before Newpark, he served
GE Capital as managing director of custom
fleet services in Australia from April
2014 to June 2015 and as commercial
excellence leader in the Asia Pacific
from September 2010 to March 2014.
Earlier in his career, Lanigan held various
executive positions in marketing and
sales for GE Capital and worked at
ExxonMobil as a drilling and completions
engineer and an offshore production engineer
and marketer for crude and LPG.
Briggs joined Newpark in October
2017 as senior director of business transformation
and integration. She was promoted
to vice president of marketing for
Newpark Industrial Services in January
2021. From October 2015 to October
2017, Briggs served as a global pricing
leader in Houston for GE Oil and Gas.
Before that, Briggs held management positions
in marketing, commercial and finance
for GE Capital. r
READ Cased Hole, a provider of
cased-hole logging services, has promoted
Kevin Giles to managing director. He
will be responsible for day-to-day management
of the business worldwide
Giles has 30 years of experience in
well intervention, including the past three
years as READ Cased Hole's global
commercial director. Before joining the
company, he spent six years in senior
management positions at Welltec and
worked with Schlumberger's electric
wireline business for 20 years. There, he
progressed from offshore-based operations
to key client account management and
then to leadership of its U.K. cased hole
wireline business.

McGuireWoods Consulting has named
Jessica Woodie its vice president for
digital, Kate Zaykowski its vice president
for communications, and Ellie Barmish
a grassroots and digital specialist.
Woodie focuses on online marketing
and communications solutions that include
cross-channel content. She brings experience
from three election cycles at the
Republican National Committee, where
she served as the creative director. Woodie
also worked on Capitol Hill as an advocate
for healthcare initiatives.
Zaykowski's background includes
communications experience at the Texas
Oil & Gas Association, Parsley Energy
and the Texas Railroad Commission.
She will work with clients to refine
communications tactics and help lawmakers,
industry stakeholders and community
members connect with key
messages.
Barmish joins McGuireWoods Consulting
from the nonprofit world, where
she led communications and operations
for a nonprofit in Austin, Tx., that focuses
on civic engagement, leadership
development and community education.
She has experience in graphic
design, social media content development
and communications. r
The new company will be led by Chief
Executive Officer Ron Neal, a veteran of
the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, and supported
by Houston Energy's senior leadership
team. Houston Energy says it has
a 30-year track record that includes a
commercial success rate around 80% and
discovering 900 million barrels of oil
equivalent of audited 2P reserves through
internally-generated exploration prospects
in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. The
company mentions that its team has participated
in multiple facility scale development
projects, such as the Delta House
and Kings Quay complexes.
HEQ Deepwater reports that on August
25, it acquired a 20% working interest in
the Shenandoah development from an affiliate
of Beacon Offshore Energy II LLC.
HEQ Deepwater says this transaction is
its second major acquisition and notes that
on the same day, the Shenandoah partners
sanctioned the Shenandoah development.

Completions
specialist Tendeka has
named Jonathan Abbot chief technology
officer.
Abbott has almost 20 years of international
experience in operations,
sales, technical support, product development
and project management.
His career includes stints in Canada,
Russia, the Middle East, Africa and
Europe, primarily with Schlumberger,
where he led large engineering development
teams focused on lower completions,
stimulation and production
enhancement.
