challenging, as many lenders and investment
banks have stepped away from the
industry during the last two years. While
some have adopted a philosophical shift
that includes a move away from fossil
fuels, others simply cannot tolerate the
industry's inherent volatility.
Although oil and natural gas is a cyclical
business, lenders with the right experience
and expertise remain highly comfortable
with the sector.
As for potential opportunities, the emergence
of renewable energy has lured some
energy investors away from oil and gas
and further constrains the sector's access
to capital. However, some oil and gas companies
indicate they eventually may add
renewable projects to their portfolios.
Ultimately, savvy energy lenders are
here to support clients and help them in
any profitable venture they pursue. That
is how we look at any business, whether
it is in oil and gas or renewables.

Group To Celebrate 75th Anniversary
Ohio Oil & Gas Association
COLUMBUS, OH.-For three quarters
of a century, the Ohio Oil & Gas Association
has represented the state's oil and gas companies
before policymakers and the public,
a milestone the group indicates it plans to
celebrate during its 75th annual convention,
scheduled for March 2-4 at the Hilton
Columbus at Easton in Columbus.
" We date back to 1947, " says OOGA
Director of Public Relations Mike Chadsey.
" OOGA has been a consistent industry
voice for 75 consecutive years, and looking
back, there have been many battles fought
and won over those many years. "
The 2022 annual meeting, he notes,
will return to the familiar timing and
format that have characterized its event
for years. " Last summer, we held an annual
meeting that was half-virtual and half-inperson, "
Chadsey recounts. " We had outdoor
receptions and the event worked, but
we are glad to be back in March and fully
in-person. OOGA members are ecstatic
to be coming back together. "
The event will emphasize proper safety
protocols, he assures, noting there will
be ample hand sanitizing stations. " We
are going to be Covid-smart but not
Covid-scared, " Chadsey describes. " Folks
are ready, willing and able to be inperson
and get back to business. "
The convention gets underway on
Wednesday, March 3. The major event
scheduled for that day is a Board of
Trustees meeting, Chadsey notes. Events
begin in earnest on the following day with
a day full of sessions and an evening banquet
to honor the newest members of the
OOGA Hall of Fame, a celebration that
takes place only once every four years.
