INOGA Recognizes Industry Leaders
EVANSVILLE, IN.-With its annual
awards and inductions into the group's
hall of fame, The Indiana Oil & Gas Association
recognized some of the Hoosier
State industry's top achievers while also
acknowledging legacies that have helped
make the industry what it is today.
For its 2021 awards, INOGA honored:
· CountryMark Refining and Logistics
LLC's Switz City Fuels Terminal as Facility
of the Year;
· CountryMark Energy Resources as
the association's Operator of the Year; and
· John Girot and Jerry Robinson as
the latest inductees into its Hall of Fame.
The awards were bestowed late last
year at INOGA's 2021 convention in
Evansville.
According to INOGA, each year its
Awards Committee solicits nominations
for the Facility of the Year and Operator
of the Year awards.
The Facility of the Year must be exemplary
in appearance, and should meet
or exceed Indiana Department of Natural
Resources regulatory standards. The INOGA
Operator of the Year Award is presented
to an operator that is an INOGA
member in good standing, and has:
· Been active recently in exploration
in Indiana;
· Significant production in the state;
· Utilized new technology in exploration
and development projects; and
· Contributed to the state's industry
by participating in INOGA activities and
those of the surrounding community.
According to INOGA, hall of fame
inductees are recognized for significant
contributions to the oil and gas industry
in Indiana and other states. Such contributions
include, but are not limited to, an
exemplary oil and gas industry career,
significant oil and/or gas discoveries, prudent
and efficient operations, personal energy
dedicated to shaping or improving
the industry, a positive industry impact
through hard work and diligent efforts,
and involvement and participation in community
organizations. The association has
provided the following descriptions of
the new INOGA Hall of Fame inductees.
Jerry Robinson
Robinson is part of the third generation
of his family to have worked in the oil
and gas industry in the Illinois Basin.
He served six years in the U.S. Army
from 1970 to 1976, four of them as a mechanic,
and upon promotion to E6, worked
the ensuing two years as a shop supervisor.
