Hammerless Cover Lock Improves Drilling Safety
HOUSTON-GD Energy Products
has launched SafeLock, a hammerless
quarter-turn valve cover lock for
drilling modules. According to the
company, SafeLock eliminates safety
hazards and increases operational efficiency
by reducing the multiple revolutions
previously required to remove
the valve cover lock to a simple quarter-turn.
" SafeLock's
mechanical lock design
requires no preload and eradicates the
need for hydraulic pumps, torque
wrenches, drills and impact guns. With
SafeLock, we have essentially converted
a dangerous multiminute process
to a toolless and hazard-free 10 seconds, "
says Ryan Huseman, GDEP's
lead engineer.

director for drilling, adds, " SafeLock
improves safety by virtue of being
hammerless. It eliminates the dangerous
and time-consuming task of break
hammering 65-pound valve covers
every time you need to enter the fluid
end. Additionally, it eases maintenance.

seal, allowing removal and installation

service intervals.
Hess Funds Collaboration
To Conserve Texas Water
HOUSTON-Hess Corp. announces it
is helping the Texas Water Action Collaborative
(TxWAC) expand to the entire
Trinity River Basin.
Launched in March 2021, TxWAC
matches companies and funders with
conservation projects that benefit Texas'
water resources. Following a successful
pilot in the Upper Trinity River Basin
last year, the collaborative is expanding
to the Lower Trinity River Basin in the
first half of 2022 with support from
Hess, the company relates. Texan by
Nature leads TxWAC and will facilitate
the expansion.
" Clean, healthy waterways are important
to the state of Texas, as well as
the Gulf of Mexico. This partnership
with Texan by Nature on the TxWAC
project is a great addition to the other
water programs Hess is involved in and
aligns with the commitment Hess has to
clean water and addressing marine debris, "

Matt Autry to president of its oil and
gas division and Jason Beck to director
of its land division.
Autry has 16 years of experience in
the oil and gas industry. Since Valor's

opment, onboarding multiple clients.
His past roles range from working as a
landman to owning and managing mineral
rights and managing landmen for a large
multinational operator.
Beck joined Valor more than a year
ago as the director of institutional mineral

Chase, serving as executive director and
regional manager of the firm's mineral
asset management division.

William J. Williford its executive vice
president and chief operating officer.
Williford previously served as executive
vice president and general manager
for the Gulf of Mexico. Since joining
W&T in 2006, he has held positions of
increasing responsibility, including reservoir
engineer, exploration project manager,
general manager for the deepwater Gulf
of Mexico, and general manager for the
Gulf of Mexico Shelf and deepwater.
Before W&T, Williford held reservoir,
production and operations positions at
Kerr-McGee and Oryx Energy.

Julia Gwaltney to senior vice president
and chief operating officer.
Gwaltney has more than 28 years of
