MARCELLA C.
BURKE
Marcella C. Burke has joined Eversheds
Sutherland as a partner in the
Houston office. She advises clients on
energy and environmental regulations
and enforcement, as well as complex
environmental corporate matters.
Burke comes from King & Spalding,
where she was a partner and led the
Houston environmental health and safety
practice as well as the global energy
transition initiative. Burke previously
held several senior government positions,
including ones at the Environmental
Protection Agency and the Department
of the Interior. She is a board member
of the Houston ESG Council and serves
on environmental committees and advisory
councils at the State Bar of Texas,
the Foundation for Natural Resources
and Energy Law and the Institute for
Energy Law.

Civitas Resources Inc. has named
Brad Johnson its senior vice president
of asset development. Johnson has more
than 25 years of industry experience,
working most recently for Ultra Petroleum
in positions of increasing responsibility
related to engineering, planning
and operations. Ultimately, he served
as the company's president and chief
executive officer. Before Ultra, Johnson
served Anadarko Petroleum for 13 years
in various engineering, planning and
leadership roles across multiple domestic
and international basins, including the
company's Wattenberg asset in the Denver-Julesburg
Basin.
Brian Kuck has joined Civitas' leadership
team as senior vice president of
corporate planning and business development.
Kuck has 25 years of industry
experience, most recently serving as
senior vice president of business development
and corporate planning for
Stephens Natural Resources. Prior to
Stephens, Kuck worked for Anadarko

in private law practice. He represents
clients such as exploration and production
companies, midstream companies
and public utilities in various
oil and gas litigation matters, such as
oil field accidents, lease and title disputes,
royalty class actions, property
damage claims, pipeline condemnations,
trade secrets and title disputes. Pittman
also has a transactional practice, advising
companies on asset sales and
purchases, mergers and acquisitions,
regulatory procedures and compliance
policies, and drafting and negotiating
various oil field contracts.

HICKS
WESTCOTT
Canes Midstream LLC has recruited
Mike Hicks as chief operating officer and
Dan Westcott as chief financial officer.
Hicks has nearly 35 years' experience
in natural gas gathering and processing.
Most recently, he served as president
of Superior Pipeline Co., where he
oversaw facilities in Texas, Oklahoma,
Kansas, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Before Superior, Hicks held various
positions at Aka Energy Group, including
executive vice president of operations
and president of both Frontier Field
Services and Lumen Midstream Services,
which were all part of the Southern
Ute Growth Fund.
Westcott's nearly 20-year career includes
eight years at the Midland-based
producer Legacy Reserves, where he
joined as executive vice president and
CFO before becoming president and finally
chief executive officer. While managing
Legacy as a publicly traded master
limited partnership, Westcott helped
raise $2 billion to fund acquisitions and
organic growth. Prior to Legacy, he
worked at GSO Capital Partners within
The Blackstone Group for six years, investing
in debt and equity capital across
the energy space.

Ryan A. Pittman has joined BakerHostetler's
Houston office as a partner in
the firm's litigation practice group and
as a member of the firm's energy industry
team.
Pittman has a decade of experience

LIPKO
Valor, an asset management and professional
services company specializing
in oil and gas mineral rights, has hired
Jonathon Lipko as its chief operating
officer.
Lipko is an operations executive
who has worked for global aerospace
giants such as Boeing and Raytheon.
Before joining Valor, Lipko was the
lead operations manager at Amazon's
distribution facility in Park City, Ks.,
where he oversaw a 300-person team
managing $250 billion in revenue. His
programs and initiatives at Amazon
led to a 50% increase in productivity
and a 20% reduction in operational
defects for the company.

NCS Multistage Holdings Inc. has
named Ryan Hummer to succeed
Robert Nipper, the company's founder
and chief executive officer, as CEO
when Nipper retires on Nov. 1.
Hummer has served as NCS Multistage's
chief financial officer since
Nov. 2016 and as treasurer since March
2020. He worked as vice president of
corporate development from July 2014
to August 2015, when he was promoted
to executive vice president of corporate
development.
