Celebrates Success Of Water Desalination Pilot
MIDLAND-Bechtel announces the
sustained pilot operations of its proprietary
Low Energy Ejector Desalination
System (LEEDS) for converting produced
water into a marketable product.
The recovered water can be repurposed
for industrial uses and to irrigate crops
or grasslands, Bechtel envisions.

for recovery, energy efficiency
and water quality. At scale, customers

Offshore Drillship
Earns Contract Extension
HOUSTON-Diamond Offshore
Drilling Inc. reports it has executed a twoyear
contract extension with a subsidiary
of bp in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico for the
Ocean BlackHornet, commencing in February
2025 in direct continuation of the
rig's current contract. This company says
the contract extension represents approximately
$350 million of additional backlog.
