Department of Energy to adopt its
categorical exclusion for the repair or
replacement of pipelines.
" Under this new process, projects
will no longer be subject to lengthy
environmental review because the
projects have collectively been
determined to provide a benefit to the

TIPRO Chooses Johnson
To Serve As Chairman
AUSTIN, TX.-In conjunction with
its 2024 summer conference, held Aug.
19-20 in San Antonio, the Texas
Independent Producers & Royalty
Owners Association confirmed T. Grant
Johnson as the group's new chairman.
Johnson has more than four decades
of experience in the energy industry,
TIPRO says, noting he is president of
Lone Star Production Co., a privatelyowned
corporation based in Houston
that was founded in 1991 to conduct
exploration and exploitation activities
on properties primarily located in West
Texas. LSPC owns interests in more
than 250 producing oil and/or gas wells,
and holds title to oil and gas interests in
more than 90,000 acres of land.
Although LSPC is a nonoperating
owner, the association says, the
company is active in the overall
management of each property.
The group adds that Johnson has
been an involved and supportive TIPRO
member since joining the association in
2006. For the past four years, Johnson
has sat on the TIPRO Board of
Directors as a regional representative.
" TIPRO has been an incredibly
impactful organization, successfully
advocating for the Texas oil and natural
gas industry for nearly 80 years, and I
am both humbled and honored to serve
as its next chairman, " Johnson
comments. " There is no other industry
more important in providing the
essential energy that fuels our daily
lives, and none more consequential to
our state economy and national security.
I am committed to supporting TIPRO's
long-standing mission over the next two
years in every way possible. I also
appreciate all the individuals and
companies that are engaged with the
association (as well as) the leadership of
TIPRO's staff. "

In addition to his roles with TIPRO,
Johnson also is a member of the
American Association of Professional
Landmen, Houston Association of
Professional Landmen (HAPL), West
Houston Association of Professional
Landmen (WHAPL), Houston
Producers Forum, Independent
Petroleum Association of America,
ADAM Permian and ADAM Houston.
Johnson has held several offices for
HAPL, including president in 20082009.
He also served as president of
WHAPL from 1987 to 1988.

practice, Rohmer chairs TIPRO's Audit Committee and has years of involvement on
TIPRO's Board of Directors.
