Proppant Providers Combine To Form Iron Oak Energy
HOUSTON-Covia Energy LLC and
Black Mountain Sand Holdings LLC announce
they have closed a definitive
agreement to merge in an all-stock transaction.
The combined company, which
operates under the name Iron Oak Energy
Solutions LLC, introduces itself as a
leading diversified proppant supplier in
North America. The company says it has
an active annual production capacity of
30 million tons of sand.
Assets include strategically located inbasin
sand mines in the Permian Basin
and Eagle Ford Shale, as well as premium
Northern White Sand facilities with an
extensive logistics network, Iron Oak says.
Michael Segura, president and chief
executive officer of Covia Energy, will
serve in the same capacities in Iron Oak
Energy, the company reports. Scott McNeill,
Black Mountain Sand's CEO, will
join the board of Iron Oak Energy and
serve as a strategic adviser. Iron Oak
Energy adds key commercial, operational
and administrative roles will be filled
by management of both companies. The
New Cheniere Analysis
new company will be headquartered in
Houston, with a corporate presence in
Fort Worth.

proppant provider across the most active
oil and gas shale basins in North America,
and with a debt-free balance sheet,
Iron Oak Energy is well positioned to
pursue further mergers and acquisitions, "
Segura says.
Iron Oak Energy says it supplies quality
fracture sand to the Delaware and Midland
basins with three large-scale facilities in
Winkler County, Tx., and a facility in
Crane County, Tx. The four facilities have
more than 16 million tons of annual production
capacity, and a combined total of
more than 100,000 tons of storage. Iron
Oak Energy operates a Northern White
Sand mine in Wedron, Il., that has more
than seven million tons of annual production
capacity and connections to multiple Class
1 railroads, as well as a similar facility in
Tunnel City, Wi., the company points out.

MHI Builds Compressors For Texas Ethane Cracker
HOUSTON-Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
Compressor International Corp.
(MCO-I) relates it has successfully manufactured,
tested and shipped steam turbine-driven
compressor packages to Golden
Triangle Polymers Co., a joint venture
between Chevron Phillips Chemical Co.
and QatarEnergy, for a world-scale ethane
cracker in Orange County, Tx. The cracker
will have a capacity of 2,080 kilotons
per annum, MHI Compressor details.
The Golden Triangle Polymers project
is an $8.5 billion integrated polymers facility
containing the cracker and two polyethylene
units on 1,600 acres, MHI Compressor describes.
The company indicates its equipment
scope includes supplying three main compressor
packages critical to the ethane
cracker's operation: cracked gas, propylene
refrigerant and ethylene refrigerant compressors,
all driven by special-purpose steam
turbines. Once it comes on line, the cracked
gas compressor train will be one of the
largest and highest horsepower trains in
operation globally, MHI Compressor adds.

has launched
Stream™, which it describes as high-speed
intelligent telemetry that increases confidence
and performance for complex wells.
Designed to overcome the bottlenecks
and limitations of conventional mud pulse
telemetry, SLB says Stream combines
proprietary artificial intelligence algorithms
with its TruLinkTM
definitive dynamic
survey-while-drilling service. According
to the company, this provides uninterrupted,
high-speed, high-fidelity real-time
subsurface measurements with no data
limitations, regardless of depth, in even
the most challenging conditions.

Updates GHG Modeling
HOUSTON-An updated life cycle
assessment (LCA) study for greenhouse
gas emissions intensities from Cheniere
Energy Inc. finds lower emissions associated
with the company's LNG than a 2019
study by the U.S. Department of Energy.
By incorporating emissions measurement
data from across the supply chain, the study
calculates that the emissions intensities of
its LNG, when used in importing countries
for power generation, are 20%-28% lower
than the 2019 study. The new analysis also
finds that integrating measurement data
into LCAs is crucial to accurately characterizing
differences in GHG emissions from
natural gas supply chains.
Cheniere says the enhanced study has
been published in the American Chemical
Society's Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering
Journal, and it builds on the company's
first LCA study, published in 2021.
The updated study deploys an algorithm
that models natural gas pathways throughout
Cheniere's supply chain in 2022, from the
natural gas production basin, through the
transmission network, to its Sabine Pass
and Corpus Christi liquefaction facilities,
using data on gas purchases, transportation
capacity and gas flows, the company details.
The study leverages a quantification, monitoring,
reporting and verification program
by integrating measurement data from Cheniere's
facilities and collaborations with
natural gas producers, midstream providers,
shippers and academic experts.
