SEVERAL CESSNA MODELS CAN NOW BURN REDUCED-LEAD AVGAS
Textron Aviation announced approval for owners of some Cessna single-engine aircraft
powered by piston Lycoming engines to burn two types of unleaded aviation fuel or a fuel
containing less lead than 100LL avgas. Read more.
US UPDATES COVID-19 POLICY FOR INTERNATIONAL AIR TRAVEL
As of November 8, any non-U.S. citizens who are not immigrants who are traveling
by air-whether by commercial operators or general aviation aircraft-must be fully
vaccinated before entering the country, with few exceptions. Read more.
FUEL QUANTITY DISPLAY ERROR PROMPTS PROPOSED AD
The FAA has proposed an airworthiness directive (AD) calling for the modification
of a component of some Garmin G3X Touch electronic flight instrument system
installations following the detection of a disparity between the amount of fuel displayed
and the actual quantity of fuel aboard an aircraft.
NEW SAFO CLEARS YOU FOR SUCCESS
Earlier this summer, the FAA published Safety Alert for Operators (SAFO) 21005, Risks
Associated with Visual Approaches. The majority of runway incursions are attributed
to general aviation pilots, including wrong surface events caused by a pilot's runway
confusion. This SAFO provides risk mitigation strategies that all general aviation pilots

FAA UPDATES LIST OF COLD TEMPERATURE AIRPORTS
The FAA released an updated list of cold temperature airports at which pilots must apply
altitude corrections on certain segments of instrument approaches when outside air
temperature drops below a published limitation. At the same time, the agency renamed
the program from cold temperature restricted airports to cold temperature airports.

CALL TO ACTION TO HELP PROTECT FLIGHT TRAINING
In August, AOPA put out a call to action asking pilots to contact the members of
Congress to sign the Certainty for General Aviation Pilots Act of 2021 (S. 2458, and H.R.
4645) to clarify the fact that giving or receiving flight training is not considered carrying
a passenger for compensation or hire, for either the instructor or aircraft owner/operator.
Members should email their senators and representatives and encourage them to
cosponsor S.2458 and H.R. 4645.
